Bruce & Carol Symons

Bruce comes from Gore and studied at BCNZ. Carol was educated in Palmerston North, attending Massey and Auckland Universities, then Auckland Teachers’ College, then gaining a BD from BCNZ. They served in the Wycliffe office in Auckland, and took their SIL training in Australia, PNG and USA. They served in the Solomon Islands as linguistic consultants. In 1988 they joined the South Pacific SIL staff. In 1993 they returned to PNG, where Bruce was a consultant and trainer of national translators, and Carol taught High School French. Currently living in Australia, Bruce is teaching phonology, discourse and semantics at SIL Australia.
