How we use your information

Cookies

Like most websites, our Site uses cookies. A cookie is piece of data stored on your device containing information about your use of a website. It has no ability to read data on your computer or instruct it to perform any step or function. Cookies are used to analyse usage patterns, enhance your browsing experience, and support essential features on the Site. A cookie does not extract any personally identifiable information, such as your name or address.

Essential Cookies

We use essential cookies on our website for site security, login authentication, and protecting against fraud. These cookies are set automatically by our website platform (Squarespace) and cannot be disabled, as they are necessary for the secure operation of the site. In addition, our Site is integrated with third-party services, Windcave and Stripe, to process donations or payments made through the Site. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies to facilitate payment processing, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. These cookies are controlled by the respective providers, so we recommend reviewing their privacy policies for more information:

- Windcave Privacy Policy

- Stripe Privacy Policy

Non-Essential Cookies

We use some non-essential cookies to identify how the website is being used and where we can make improvements. Some pages may include embedded content from other providers (such as YouTube) and these may also store cookies. When you first visit our site, there will be a pop-up which gives you the choice of blocking non-essential cookies. You can control, disable, or delete cookies through your browser’s settings. In Google Chrome, you can find these functions by navigating to your browser settings, then click “Privacy and security”, then “Cookies and other site data”. However, blocking cookies may have a negative impact upon the usability of some websites, such as online donations.

How we store your information

Security

Your personal information is only used by authorised WycliffeNZ staff, unless the purpose for which it was collected involves a trusted external provider or partner organisation (see ‘Sharing information with third parties’ below). We do not store your credit or debit card details. These are passed securely to trusted payment processors (Windcave and Stripe). We may hold bank account details for the purpose of collecting direct debits in order to identify your payment. Details of our donors or contacts will not be sold, exchanged or rented to third parties.

Sharing information with third parties

We will not sell, trade or rent any personal information to third parties. We may need to share information with trusted external suppliers or partners for the

purposes of our arrangement. Only necessary information is shared, and it can not be used by them for any other purpose.

These arrangements include:

- Names and addresses shared with our postal mailing provider (Orangebox)

- Contact information and records stored using our customer relationship

management service provider.

- Donation details shared with a secure payment processor (Windcave or

Stripe). This data is used solely for processing your donation and is subject to

the companies’ own Privacy Policies (Windcave’s Privacy Policy; Stripe’s Privacy Policy).

- Applicant or inquirer information may be forwarded to one of WycliffeNZ’s partner organisations to answer a request, or to determine suitability for training or service with an overseas entity.

- Donor information may be shared with the relevant member or partner organisation to notify them of your support (unless you have specifically requested for the donation to be anonymous). In exceptional circumstances, we may need to disclose information if required by law, in an emergency, or if we believe such action is necessary (such as investigating technical problems or fraudulent activity).
