Hello, we’re Wilf and Anita Flores and we have three children, William 11, Kylie (Maggie) 9 and Bjorn 3 years old.
Anita is from the USA and Wilf is from Mexico but joined Wycliffe New Zealand in 2005. Anita joined Wycliffe USA in 2000 and in 2001 began working among the Zapotec people in Mexico. Wilf returned to Mexico to work under SIL in 2007 and formally began translating the Old Testament into his own language called Chinantec. We got married in 2008 and have been working in the Chinantec translation project together since then.
We are both want to see the Chinantec people have the whole Bible in their own language and be transformed by the power of God's Word. We also like to motivate and training people from Mexico so they too can join the ministry of Bible Translation in Mexico and around the world.
Apart from translation, we both have other responsibilities on the field. Anita is the Literacy coordinator of SIL Mexico as well as being a teacher for various SIL courses. Wilf teaches phonetics, translation principles and grammar, and he is also the president of ILV, a national Bible Translation organization that sponsor visas for expat translators in Mexico.
