David & Christine Foris

David, a Canadian, completed his LTh at New Zealand Baptist Theological College and two part-time courses at Auckland University. Christine was an Auckland office worker until she had their first child. She took Bible courses through Moody Institute. They completed the Sochiapam Chinantec New Testament (Mexico) in 1986. From 1987 they were Regional Reps in Auckland. In 1994 David graduated with a PhD in Linguistics through Auckland University. From 1997 until December 2004 Christine served in the Member Relations Dept for WBT NZ. David served as National Training Co-ordinator and Principal of NZ SIL from 1993 until 2003. David then resumed work on Sochiapam Chinantec Projects including the trilingual Chinantec/Spanish/English dictionary. Mid 2005 David and Christine took up an assignment in Mexico for a year and a half, furthering the work amongst the Chinantec people. After lecturing at the SIL school in Peru 2007-2008, David and Christine returned to the Auckland Wycliffe office and made further trips to Mexico and Peru.
