Matthew studied Mathematics, Physics, Linguistics and TESOL. He spent two years living in South Korea, teaching English to middle school students.
He now works remotely from Wellington on a project in Southeast Asia. He uses The Bible Translator’s Assistant (TBTA), a specialist Bible translation software system, to build a grammar for the language. This innovative program uses semantic representations, where each sentence in the Bible is broken down into its meaningful words, and each word and phrase is marked with its language features. His role is writing the rules of the language so that the program can transform the semantic representations into a high quality first draft translation.
Matthew is married to Felicity. She runs her own business teaching cello and pre-school music classes.
“We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
