Ross has his MSc in Maths from the University of Auckland and BTh from Bible College of New Zealand (now Laidlaw College). Elizabeth completed a BSc at Canterbury University before moving north to teach in Auckland and attend BCNZ. After field training Ross and Elizabeth went to Vanuatu in 1983 to study the Uripiv language. The Uripiv New Testament was dedicated in December 2005.
Since returning to live in NZ in 1996, Ross continues to serve as a translation consultant.
